Isabel Ostrom is a Calgary artist who finds creative inspiration through her love of animals and the outdoors in British Columbia and Alberta. Isabel is a “colourist” who celebrates nature through the bold use of transparent glazes juxtaposed against opaque pigments. She loves bringing joy into people’s lives through her bright paintings and she is well known for her ability to convey an animal’s larger-than-life personality (both domestic and wild). Her landscapes reflect and amplify the environment through dynamic brush movement and a vivid palette.

Isabel primarily paints in acrylic, as well as in oil. She sells her work privately and through group shows and exhibits, and accepts private commission work.
