Samar Metwali

After graduating from the faculty of Fine Arts – University of Alexandria with an honorary degree in 1992 as a Set Designer, Samar became a Freelance Illustrator and Graphic Designer. Powered by a natural talent and passion for colours in Canadian Nature, Samar moved to Calgary in 1998 but kept on travelling across western Canada to fill her mind and soul with the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. She used her knowledge about beauty theories, perspective drawing, theatrical design, photography and lights on the stage, to become a successful artist in capturing the light in her paintings. Samar works mostly in acrylics, oils and watercolor.

Samar’s artwork has been in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions. Her work has been part of many collections In North America.
Samar is an active member in The Federation of Canadian Artists – Calgary Chapter
