A native Albertan, Doris’ artistic style is best described as “colorist”. She loves painting the urban landscape, and her painting inspirations come from living in beautiful Calgary, as well as her interest in and love of travel.

She has taken classes at ACAD as well as classes from many of our talented local professional artists, artists from other regions in Canada, and online
classes. She paints in watercolor and acrylic mediums.

Doris displays her artwork at the Calgary Community Painters Society’s Palette Shows as well as the SAAA Art Club. She has also been part of the Stampede Western Art Gallery. In July 2023, she was honored to receive the “Best in Show” award for her artwork.

In 2023, the CBC series “Heartland” leased Doris’ paintings for their film set.
