Maria is a native Calgarian who has had a passion for art since childhood. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of the surrounding foothills, mountains, and finding the interesting in the ordinary. Her many travels provide further sources of inspiration. She works in acrylic, oil and watercolour striving to capture the light and colour of her favourite subjects: landscape and figurative.
Along with Education and Fine Art Degrees, she has had the pleasure of taking workshops from Brent Laycock, David Langevin, John Stuart Pryce, Mike Svob.
Exhibition participation includes Artistic Entities, Alberta Flood Rose Project, Udderly Art, and the Resolution, Motion and Centennial Galleries.
She gives lessons, workshops and is a member and exhibitor with the Calgary Community Painters Society.
