Violette’s travels are a great source of inspiration for her art as are the many memories of her youth living in France and many tropical countries. Reliving these times and places, capturing those sensations and to be able to share them visually is what motivates her to paint.

She believes that watercolours is the most stimulating medium to be expressive and to invite spontaneity. When painting with acrylics she uses a more impressionist style, paints with bolder colours, more dynamic strokes and experiments with texture. Art to her is about learning, discovering, experimenting and sharing ideas.

Violette has participated and sold at various juried shows such as the Leighton Art Centre, The Calgary Stampede and the Federation of Canadian Artists a well as other art groups. She has also participated in a two-person show at Frame on Fifth in Calgary.
