Mary-Jo Lough

My work is a form of self-portraiture. Energetic, bold, and intricately detailed, it is the visual language of my interior world. The challenge of harnessing chaos is at the core of my process and mirrors my experience as a neurodivergent individual. Painting is a space where I lay down my “mask”, relinquish control, and allow my impulses and intuition free rein. Through my work, I extend an invitation for the viewer to navigate the
world with me through an ADHD lens. By sharing my experiences, I aim to normalize neurodiversity and help create a more inclusive and accepting society.
