Carole Day

Carole is a proud Alberta artist born and raised in Edmonton. As a teenager, she studied at the Edmonton Art Gallery where she had the good fortunate to work with many instructors from the Alberta Society of Artists.

After high school, Carole came to Calgary and received a 2 year diploma in ART & DESIGN from the Provincial Institute of Technology & Art (SAIT). At this time, a great love for the mountains and outdoors became a strong influence.

In the 1960’s, Carole taught child art for the Allied Art Centre for 10 years. This time of imagination and whimsy played an important part in her art experience. In the 1980’s Carole returned to full time art studies at ACAD, graduating in 1983 with a 4 year Diploma in Visual Arts. From this time to the present, Carole’s art education has continued with participation in numerous workshops.

For 18 years, Carole taught adult evening watercolour and drawing classes, for the City of Calgary. This gave her the opportunity to share her skills and knowledge with others. Carole works primarily with watercolour and her work reflects her love of the mountains and nature.

Carole is a member of the Calgary Community Painters Society, and previous Member of the Calgary Artists Society and Federation of Canadian Artists.
