Connie loves the simplicity and the complexity of the landscape. “In art, reality is a ceaselessly mutable term; but a landscape is always something other than the reality it portrays. It is essentially a product of the mind.”
In Connie’s work she tries to express the expanding forces of nature, its growth and its rhythms. The rural Saskatchewan environment has had a particularly impelling force upon her with the dramatic texture of the land and organic material that exists there. She is determined to create vibrant and beautiful paintings that will touch the heart and stimulate the spirit.
