Claire Wybert
Claire was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and spent her early years there before moving to Wainwright, Alberta where she completed her education.
Her interest in Art primarily began in London, England in 1973. While in London for a year, Claire was fortunate to meet and take Art classes from well known English artist, Gwen Potter, who was accomplished in both oils and watercolours. When she returned to Canada, Claire continued painting in oils at the Marion Baker Studio in Calgary.
In 1980, Claire turned her attention to watercolours which seemed a more flowing and flexible medium to achieve the spontaneity she wanted to achieve. Claire particularly enjoys painting landscapes of mountains, trees and water.
Claire has taken seminars and workshops from various well known artists such as Zoltan Szabo, a prominent American artist, Stan Blodgett, George Alig, and Ann Hunters from Victoria. She has taken Art classes through the Calgary Board of Education Continuing Education Program and through the Alberta College of Art.
