Sue Chorney

Watercolor is the only medium Sue paints in and has been doing so since 2000. The flowing and delicate paints channel her love of color, romance and realism. Her paintings make amazing blank notecards that she sells year round through friends and various women’s network groups.

Weekly art classes allow Sue to socialize with like-minded colleagues. She enjoys seeing her classmates progress with their own mediums as they all provide encouragement and honest critique. While being very dedicated to watercolour painting, Sue has also incorporated Gesso and other mediums to enhance her realistic dog portraits. Past workshops, both locally and out of country, have contributed to her creative journey.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as a young girl, Sue could hardly wait to go to her local community center for craft day and see what she could learn and create. From designing hats to painting on glass, Sue was in her zone. She likes to share a story about her elementary school art classes. The students had to draw and then paint a still life of fruit. As each painting was showcased by the teacher, Sue applauded with delight at one of the paintings only to find out it was her very own!
